Looking at the Universe

Attempting to Understand Reality.

Vila Qatuan is the home of The Brazilian Institute for Quantum Archaeoastronomy (IBAQ); An International group supported and created in Partnership with the World Water Community. The purpose of IBAQ is to support and engage with profound research into the Physics, Chemistry and Biology of Water on behalf of developing a better understanding of Ecology, Environment, Habitat, and how ancient human cultural relationships with Water, may help us to work towards becoming a more sustainable, successful and beneficial collection of Earth’s visitors.

Our research extends from the things we discover in our telescopes…

Archaeoastronomy (also spelled archeoastronomy) is the interdisciplinary or multidisciplinary study of how people in the past “have understood the phenomena in the sky, how they used these phenomena and what role the sky played in their cultures”

… to the things we encounter in the landscape …

‘Quantum’ Archaeoastronomy goes beyond perceiving sustainability as a mere marketing strategy or a novelty. Its purpose lies in genuinely demonstrating to individuals how to live sustainably. That entails navigating through challenges like Ice Ages as a united and responsible collective, learning to coexist harmoniously with the environment that sustains us.

By understanding how we have achieved that in the past, we can equip ourselves to do so again, repeatedly.

… And what we need to do today, if we want to survive the next Ice Age.
